The most consequential oversight on this tariff line is failing to identify the precise Indian Standard serial number in Schedule 1 of the Steel and Steel Products Quality Control Order, 2024 that maps to this specific thickness band and product form before the purchase order is placed. Note that S.O. 5134(E) dated 20-11-2025 suspended enforcement of a defined list of serial numbers in Schedule 1 for three years; if this HSN's mapped IS falls within that suspended list, the mandatory marking obligation is correspondingly deferred — but importers who assume suspension without confirming their serial number face detention when customs verifies CM/L scope at port.
