The most common error on this tariff line is importing against an S.O. 5134(E) deferral belief without confirming that the specific IS serial number covering IS 2062 or IS 1079 is actually listed among the deferred entries. S.O. 5134(E) dated 20-11-2025 suspends enforcement only for the serial numbers explicitly enumerated in that notification; IS 2062 and IS 1079 entries must be checked individually against that list. An importer who assumes a blanket deferral, presents unmarked plates at port, and cannot produce a valid CM/L faces consignment detention under Section 17 of the BIS Act, 2016 regardless of the SIMS registration status.
