Hot-rolled flat steel of thickness 4.75 mm or more, pickled
HSN 7208 25 90 (hot-rolled flat-rolled products of iron or non-alloy steel, width 600 mm or more, thickness 4.75 mm or more) is covered by a Bureau of Indian Standards Quality Control Order. Conformity to the applicable Indian Standard under Schedule 1 of the Steel and Steel Products Quality Control Order, 2024 is mandatory under the ISI Mark Scheme with effect from 29 August 2024, pursuant to S.O. 3716(E). Steel Import Monitoring System registration administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade applies as a separate customs-clearance overlay.

- 5For imports of seconds or defective HR coils, plates, or sheets, comply with applicable value restrictions, port restrictions, and Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate requirements. The single most common error on this tariff line is assuming that S.O. 5134(E) dated 20-11-2025 — which defers enforcement for specified Schedule 1 serial numbers by three years from gazette publication — applies to this product.
