  1. 1

Imports from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom are exempt from azo-dye testing only; the PSIC for other parameters remains required.

A word of counsel

The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye testing exemption for listed countries is a blanket waiver of the PSIC requirement. The exemption applies to the azo-dye test specifically; a full Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate covering fabric composition and other parameters is still mandatory for all origins, and a consignment arriving without a valid PSIC is liable to detention pending rectification.
