- 2If the consignment originates from Bangladesh, verify applicability of DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, which introduces port restrictions under para 19 of the General Notes for certain goods imported from Bangladesh. Confirm whether the goods fall under the exempted categories in paras 2 and 3 before routing the shipment.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, para 19 of General Notes to ITC (HS) 2022
The most frequent error on this tariff line is assuming that a country-of-origin exemption from azo-dye testing also dispenses with the PSIC requirement altogether. The exemption applies only to the azo-dye test component; a PSIC or valid Textile Committee test report covering other composition and hazardous-substance parameters remains mandatory regardless of origin. Failure to upload the requisite test documentation at the bill-of-entry stage results in consignment detention pending PSIC verification.
