Accompany all textile consignments with a PSIC from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee or CSRTI laboratory, certifying absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Testing is exempted only for imports originating from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Verify applicability of DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025 regarding port restrictions on imports from Bangladesh under Para 19 of the General Notes of ITC (HS) 2022. The most common error on this tariff line is overlooking the dual PSIC requirement: one certificate addresses textile composition and brand authenticity (relevant when the product contains wool or blended fibres under General Note 11), and a separate PSIC addresses azo-dye absence under General Note 10. Importers who obtain only the azo-dye PSIC and omit the composition certificate for wool-containing handkerchiefs face consignment detention pending submission of the missing documentation.
