HSN 6212 90 90 (Other — girdles, corsets, braces, garters and similar articles) is subject to the ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), with a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate covering hazardous azo-dye absence mandatory under General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) policy. DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17 May 2025 introduces port restrictions applicable to imports from Bangladesh under General Note para 19.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from accredited exporting-country lab
- Test report from Textile Committee or CSRTI
- ITC (HS) policy declaration to DGFT
- 1Obtain a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee (TC) or Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute (CSRTI) laboratory, confirming the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Imports from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom are exempt from azo-dye testing only.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2For consignments originating in Bangladesh, verify compliance with para 19 of the General Notes as introduced by DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, including the port restrictions stated in para 1. Confirm whether the goods fall within the exempted categories listed in paras 2 and 3 before routing the shipment.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, para 19 of General Notes to ITC (HS) 2022
The azo-dye PSIC exemption is country-of-origin specific, not a blanket waiver: an importer sourcing from a non-exempt country who ships via an exempt country's intermediary port does not thereby qualify for the exemption. A missing or deficient PSIC at the bill-of-entry stage results in consignment detention and demurrage pending re-inspection, and no post-arrival rectification route exists for this document.
