Women's or girls' nightwear and lingerie of other textile materials
HSN 6208 99 90 (women's and girls' nightwear, lingerie and similar woven articles of other textile materials) is subject to the ITC (HS) Restricted-import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). A Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate certifying the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes is mandated under General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) policy, with country-specific exemptions. Importers sourcing from Bangladesh must additionally verify port-restriction compliance under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025.

- Test report from Textile Committee or CSRTI
- ITC (HS) policy compliance declaration to DGFT
- 1Procure a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) from an accredited laboratory in the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee (TC) or Central Silk and Rayon Textile Research Institute (CSRTI) laboratory, certifying the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Imports from the EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom are exempt from azo-dye testing only.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2If the consignment originates from or is routed through Bangladesh, verify applicability of Para 19 of the General Notes introduced by DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, which imposes port restrictions on certain goods imported from Bangladesh into India. Confirm the port of import is listed as a permitted entry point before filing the bill of entry.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, Para 19 and Paras 1, 2 and 3
The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye testing exemption covers all documentary requirements for exempt-origin countries. The PSIC exemption applies only to azo-dye testing; all other mandatory quality and composition parameters under General Note 10 continue to apply regardless of country of origin. Additionally, the Bangladesh port-restriction overlay under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 is frequently overlooked by importers who source indirectly through third-country consolidators — origin and routing must both be assessed before committing to a discharge port.
