Women's or girls' woven nightwear and underwear of man-made fibres
HSN 6208 92 90 (Other women's or girls' apparel of man-made fibres) is subject to ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), requiring a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate certifying absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes under General Note 10. DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025 introduces port restrictions on imports from Bangladesh that apply to this tariff line where relevant.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from accredited lab
- Test report from Textile Committee or CSRTI
- ITC (HS) policy compliance from DGFT
- 1Procure a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee or CSRTI laboratory, certifying the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Testing for azo-dye presence is exempted only for imports originating from the EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2If the consignment originates from Bangladesh, verify applicability of the port restrictions introduced under Para 19 of the General Notes via DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025. Confirm whether the goods fall within the exempted categories listed in Para 2 and Para 3 of that notification before nominating the port of entry.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, Para 1, 2 and 3
The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye PSIC exemption covers the entire shipment when the consignment is only partially sourced from an exempt country. The exemption attaches to the origin of each article, not the invoice as a whole; mixed-origin consignments require PSIC coverage for the non-exempt portion. A missing or scope-deficient PSIC will cause the bill of entry to be held at the out-of-charge stage pending a compliant test report.
