HSN 6208 91 90 (women's and girls' cotton nightwear and similar articles) is subject to the ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), with a mandatory Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate requirement covering hazardous azo-dye absence under General Note 10. Imports originating from Bangladesh are additionally subject to port restrictions under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025.

The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the PSIC requirement is waived for all established trading partners — the country-of-origin exemption is narrow and fixed: only the nine named countries are exempt from azo-dye testing, and no other origin qualifies regardless of a bilateral trade arrangement. A consignment from any non-exempt country arriving without a valid PSIC or Textile Committee test report is liable to detention and ground rent until compliant documentation is produced.
