Women's or girls' garments of other textile materials
HSN 6204 69 90 (women's or girls' garments of other textile materials) is subject to the ITC (HS) Restricted-import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), including a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate requirement for hazardous-dye absence under General Note 10. DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025 introduces additional port restrictions for imports originating from Bangladesh under para 19 of the General Notes.

The most common error on this tariff line is assuming that the PSIC requirement is satisfied by an in-house quality document from the exporter rather than a certificate from an accredited laboratory or a recognised Textile Committee or CSRTI test report. A PSIC that does not meet the General Note 10 specification — regardless of its content — will result in consignment detention at the port of entry pending a fresh, compliant test report, attracting demurrage and ground rent.
