A word of counsel

The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye exemption applies to all shipments from major trading partners. The exemption is limited to the nine named countries — EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom — and does not extend to other origins regardless of the exporter's quality certifications. A consignment from any non-listed country arriving without a valid Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate will be detained at the port of entry.
