Shirting fabrics

Cotton shirting fabrics, 3-thread or 4-thread twill weave

HSN 5208 13 10 (Shirting fabrics) is subject to the ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), which requires a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate confirming the absence of prohibited azo dyes under General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) policy. The azo-dye testing requirement applies to all exporting countries except the nine exempted origins notified under DGFT Public Notice 14/2023.

   Obtain a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country certifying the absence of prohibited azo dyes before shipment. This requirement applies to all origins except EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

   Upload the Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate and azo-dye test report in e-Sanchit at the bill-of-entry stage. Consignments arriving without the required certificate from non-exempt origins are liable to detention pending production of the document.
