Bleached woven fabric of wool mixed with man-made filaments
HSN 5112 20 20 (Bleached woven fabric of combed wool mixed with man-made filaments) is subject to the ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). A Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate certifying the absence of prohibited azo dyes is required under General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) policy, with a country-specific exemption for imports from nine named origins.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from accredited lab
- Azo-dye test report from Textile Committee
- ITC (HS) policy declaration from DGFT
- 1Obtain a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee or CSRTI laboratory, certifying the absence of prohibited azo dyes. This requirement applies to all origins except the nine exempt countries listed under General Note 10.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2If importing from the EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, or the United Kingdom, document the origin clearly on the bill of entry to claim the azo-dye testing exemption under General Note 10. Ensure the country-of-origin certificate is uploaded in e-Sanchit to support the exemption claim at the bill of entry stage.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye testing exemption is universal. The exemption under General Note 10 applies exclusively to the nine named countries; imports from any other origin — including transshipment origins — require a valid Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate before out-of-charge, and the absence of one will result in consignment detention pending compliance.
