The most common error on this tariff line is initiating shipment before the Ozone Cell recommendation is secured, treating the DGFT Import Authorisation as a routine licence that can be obtained concurrently with transit. The Ozone Cell recommendation is a prerequisite to DGFT issuing the authorisation at all, and a consignment arriving without a valid Import Authorisation is liable to detention and re-export as a Restricted-import violation under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992.
