The most common error on this tariff line is importing against a valid CIB&RC registration but from a supplier not named on that registration certificate. The Insecticides Act, 1968 treats source-of-import as a binding condition of registration, not a procedural formality — a consignment shipped from an unregistered source is liable to seizure at the notified port even when the active ingredient and formulation are identical to the registered product. Verify the exporting manufacturer's name against the registration certificate before placing every purchase order.
