Silkworm pupae
Silkworm pupae, animal products of animal origin
HSN 0511 99 10 (Silkworm pupae) is subject to Animal Quarantine and Certification Services (AQCS) sanitary clearance requirements applicable to animal-origin products under the Live Stock Importation Act, 1898. A Sanitary Import Permit and a Health Certificate must be uploaded in e-Sanchit before customs out-of-charge is granted at the bill-of-entry stage.
- Sanitary Import Permit from AQCS
- Health Certificate from AQCS
- 1Obtain a Sanitary Import Permit (document code 911DF1) from Animal Quarantine and Certification Services before the consignment is shipped. This permit must be uploaded in e-Sanchit and its IRN quoted on the bill of entry prior to customs out-of-charge.CCR mandatory document requirement · document code 911DF1
- 2Ensure a Health Certificate (document code 6360AQ) issued by the competent authority of the exporting country accompanies the consignment and is uploaded in e-Sanchit. The proper officer will verify both documents before granting out-of-charge on PGA-facilitated bills.CCR mandatory document requirement · document code 6360AQ
The most common error on this tariff line is dispatching the consignment before the Sanitary Import Permit is obtained from AQCS and uploaded in e-Sanchit — the Health Certificate alone does not satisfy the clearance requirement. Arrival without a current 911DF1 results in detention at the port of import; no retrospective upload cures a consignment already held by the proper officer pending PGA NOC.
