Other
Ossein and other acid-treated bones (unworked, defatted)
HSN 0506 10 39 (acid-treated bones, other than ossein) is subject to Animal Quarantine and Certification Services (AQCS) Sanitary Import Permit clearance and the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) CITES certificate requirement as concurrent primary regulators. The tariff line is subject to ITC (HS) policy condition no. 3 of Chapter 05 administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), and mandatory documentation must be uploaded in e-Sanchit before customs out-of-charge.
- Sanitary Import Permit from AQCS
- CITES certificate from WCCB
- Health certificate from AQCS
Procedural directions for customs clearance are issued by: Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
- 1Obtain the AQCS Sanitary Import Permit (document code 911DF1) before consignment dispatch. Quote the e-Sanchit IRN of the Sanitary Import Permit on the bill of entry to obtain the AQCS NOC, covering CTIs listed in Annexure A (Sl. No. 3) of CBIC Circular 24/2022-Cus dated 28-11-2022.CBIC Circular 24/2022-Cus dated 28-11-2022 · AQCS Sanitary Import Permit document code 911DF1
- 2Upload the veterinary Health Certificate issued by the exporting country (document code 853AQ1) and a Laboratory Report or Certificate of Analysis (document code 001AQ1) in e-Sanchit. Also upload the CITES certificate (document code 626000) and the Health Certificate (document code 6360AQ) before out-of-charge.CBIC Circular 24/2022-Cus dated 28-11-2022, Annexure A Sl. No. 1 and Sl. No. 2
- 3Confirm compliance with ITC (HS) policy condition no. 3 of Chapter 05 at the time of filing the bill of entry. Any consignment not meeting the policy condition is liable to detention pending DGFT authorisation.ITC (HS) Import Policy, Chapter 05, Policy Condition No. 3
The single most common error on this tariff line is treating the AQCS Sanitary Import Permit as the sole clearance and neglecting the independent WCCB CITES certificate requirement. Acid-treated bones of scheduled species require a CITES permit regardless of the degree of processing; a consignment arriving without document code 626000 uploaded in e-Sanchit will be detained at port and may be subject to confiscation and prosecution under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, irrespective of AQCS clearance status.
