    Route the consignment only through one of the 79 designated food-import ports per General Note 4(D) of Schedule I of the ITC (HS) 2022, and ensure product labelling complies with the FSSAI rectifiable-labelling regime before out-of-charge is granted.

The single most frequent error on this tariff line is treating the FSSAI Import Licence as the complete clearance and dispatching the consignment without the AQCS Sanitary Import Permit. The two clearances are independent — FSSAI governs food safety and manufacturer registration, AQCS governs the animal-quarantine overlay — and a consignment arriving at a designated port with a valid FSSAI licence but no AQCS Sanitary Import Permit IRN in e-Sanchit will be detained, incurring demurrage and ground rent until the Permit is uploaded.
